Santiago de Chile, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) The organization Agrupacion Familiares Detenidos Desaparecidos, AFDD, (Organization of Families of Missing People Arrested in Chile) expressed today strong condemnation to conservative presidential candidate Sebastian Piñera, described by AFDD as ''extremely dangerous''.
'The statements made by Piñera yesterday might be seen as a bad joke, but questioning the transparency of the first round of elections saying that there were marked ballots is very serious,' said Lorena Pizarro, AFDD president'.
'It is a sign of threat, which means that the right-wing is in a veiled way saying that if it does not win elections, it will not recognize the results of the presidential elections, and that is precisely the prelude to a coup d'etat,' said Pizarro.
AFDD said at a press conference that it will give its support to candidate for the center-left wing, independent senator Alejandro Guillier, 'because we can not allow another return of the right-wing to power.'
At the same time, Pizarro asked Senator Guillier for greater commitments to the causes of human rights and a clearer process of truth and justice for the atrocities committed in the past.
'We can not ignore that there has been progress in President Michelle Bachelet's administration in this regard, and we believe that the Government has to get inside the wounds of the past in order to prevent their recurrence,' said Pizarro.
In this regard, she said that murderers in Europe serve their sentences in prison regardless of their age or if they suffer from diseases, because they are paying for their crimes against humanity.
She referred to the recent statements made by president of the Supreme Court of Justice Hugo Dolmestch calling for an humanitarian approach for terminally ill people that committed crimes during the dictatorship.
AFDD also announced the 7th political-cultural concert Voces Vivas, dedicated on this occasion to call for voting in favor of Guillier and also for the closure of the Punta Peuco prison. 'Inti Illimani', 'Illapu', 'Los Vasquez', 'Cantores que reflexionan' and 'Imaginacion', among others, will participate in the concert, mainly dedicated to the closure of the Punta Peuco prison, which offers privileges to the perpetrators of crimes against humanity.
