Venezuela Seeks to Lower Unemployment Rate to 4.5 Percent
11 de enero de 2017, 16:27Caracas, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) Minister for the Communities Aristobulo Isturiz said today that the Venezuelan Government seeks to reduce unemployment from six to 4.5 percent by supporting public works and through the boosters of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.
During the National Community Parliament, he said that Venezuela, thanks to the social policies launched by the Government, has reduced extreme poverty from 63 percent to 4.5 percent in almost 20 years.
As part of the projects for 2017 he said that the Government plans to allocate $400 million bolivares ($40 million USD) in public works and $300 billion bolivares ($30 billion USD) in the boosters of the economy.
He also criticized rating agencies and foreign media that foster a distorted image of the reality and the problems of Venezuela.
He said that given the current situation, the country will move from the resistance to the offensive through very define plans, with the name Campaign Carabobo 2017-2021.
In his view, this mechanism will bring new victories for the Bolivarian Revolution and the population.
'We have to make these years of offensive and victory,' said Isturiz, while highlighting the importance of maintaining peace in the country to move to this new stage.
