Iran considers non-compliance with nuclear deal counterproductive

Tehran, Apr 2 (Prensa Latina) Iran considers the delay in returning to compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal to be counterproductive, a return to which the European Union and the world in general would appreciate, HispanTV stressed on Friday.

President Hassan Rouhani pointed out that the US intransigent position will not yield Iranian citizens who are used to resisting and facing deficiencies, according to the same source.

Iranians endured the difficulties to achieve the nuclear deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed in 2015 between Tehran and the 5+1 group (the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and China, plus Germany), he said.

Rouhani recalled that Washington withdrew from the pact in May 2018, despite which Iran continued to comply with, but a year later, it began to cut its commitments facing the indifference by the European signatories.

An immediate return to what was agreed in 2015, he added, will benefit them and everyone.

The promises of the US Government, chaired by Joe Biden, reflect ignorance by Iran, whose people resisted the economic war imposed by former President Donald Trump and will resist if that policy persists.
