In an exchange, described as fruitful by the informer, between Cuban Ambassador to this country, Saylin Sanchez, with Minister Oumar Demba Ba, advisor to Senegal’s President Macky Sall, topics of the bilateral relations were discussed.
It was a cordial exchange in line with the existing fraternal relations between both countries, which will turn 47 this year.
The ambassador updated her host on the implementation of the US blockade, tightened during the Covid-19 health crisis, the obstacles it imposes on Cuba’s economic and social development and its extraterritorial nature, which violates international law.
She also mentioned the presentation, on June 23, at the UN General Assembly, of the Cuban resolution that calls for the need of lifting that coercive measure.
Ba thanked the visit and reiterated his government’s continuous support to this Cuban cause against the blockade.
The ambassador extended a message of gratitude to President Sall and the people of Senegal for their support and highlighted how much Cuba appreciates the constant support of African countries, a continent linked to Cuba by strong roots and historical ties.
