Lukashenko and Putin will meet in Moscow on September 9

Minsk, Aug 31(Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, will meet in Moscow on September 9, the press service of the president of this country reported the eve.

According to the statement, the date of the meeting was agreed during the telephone conversation held on Monday by both leaders and the agenda will include the review of joint cooperation projects, the international situation and bilateral relations.

Putin congratulated Lukashenko on his 67th birthday, and spoke with him about bilateral cooperation and upcoming contacts in various formats, the Kremlin reported.

According to Belta news agency, both leaders and their Tajik counterpart, Emomalí Rajmón, also exchanged on the situation in Afghanistan and discussed issues from the next meeting of the Common Security Treaty Organization in Dushanbe.

Earlier, the Russian head of state sent a greeting to Lukashenko in which he confirmed that Belarus can always count on the support of Moscow.

‘I have no doubt that, through joint efforts, we will continue to comprehensively increase Russian-Belarusian relations in various directions’, he said.

Putin highlighted the Belarusian president’s efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries and promote mutually beneficial integration processes in the Eurasian zone.

‘His rich experience as a state leader will continue to serve to ensure unity and harmony in Belarusian society, consolidate stability and security in the country’, he added.
