Havana, Mar 11 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity with Cuba is strengthened in the United States in the face of U.S. government hostility and the discrediting campaigns against the Revolution, activist Ike Nahem said here today.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, the leader of the Cuba Sí New York-New Jersey Coalition, pointed out that in the last two years the position against the blockade imposed on the island by the government of his country has grown significantly, intensified in the midst of the complex situation arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

He pointed out as the extent of the reality of Cuba, its struggles and achievements is known, sympathy towards this Antillean nation multiplies.

This is precisely one of the fundamental tasks of that organization, which has convened around 20 virtual events to date from its Internet platform, and coordinates the United States-Cuba International Standardization Conference.

This meeting will be held next March 19 and 20 at the headquarters of the solidarity association The People’s Forum, in Manhattan, New York, with the presence of 150 people, while hundreds of activists from other countries will do so virtually through online platforms.

Among the issues to be discussed are the ways to counteract anti-Cuban propaganda and spread the reality of the island, as well as the participation of Cuban women in society and gender equality, Nahen told this agency.

Faced with the persistence of hostility from Washington, we will continue to unify the various organizations with the purpose of creating an independent movement as united around Cuba as possible to force a change in policy towards the island, he assured.

The US-Cuba International Standards Conference Coalition is a broad-based, united effort with more than 5,000 members.
