Syrian army neutralizes 20 terrorists in failed attack

Damascus, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) About twenty radicals were eliminated by the Syrian army after frustrating an attack against positions of the Army in the town of Bsatroun, in the west of the province of Aleppo, in northern Syria.

Officials, quoted by the local media, said that the failed offensive was launched by militants of the Al-Fateh Al-Mubin coalition, led by the Organization for the Liberation of the Levant, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nousra Front, registered on the list of international terrorism.

The Army was on alert and opened fire on the extremists, who had to withdraw after suffering at least 20 casualties, while the vehicles that transported them were destroyed, the sources said.

Meanwhile, in the province of Idlib, the army shelled terrorist positions using heavy artillery in the towns of Al-Fatira, Kafr Awaid, Sufuhin, Fleifel, Al-Ruwaiha, Benin and Majdalia on the Jabal Al-Zawiya plateau in the south of the region.

Syria´s national army managed to liberate 56 percent of Idlib during its operations in 2020, but the jihadists still control the rest, where they hold hundreds of thousands of civilians as human shields.
