In an interview with Prensa Latina, Professor Xu Shicheng of the Institute of Latin America of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences explained that both regions have built a cooperation based on principles of mutual respect, shared benefit and non-intervention.
This relationship does not seek geopolitical competition or the creation of zones of influence, Xu said.
According to the expert, the ties between China and LAC respond to the real needs of Latin American and Caribbean countries, without political conditions or targeting third parties.
“China and LAC are united by the sincerity of mutual support and common progress, not by zero-sum calculations or domination logics,” he explained.
Xu stressed that mutually beneficial cooperation has brought tangible advantages to the peoples of both sides.
He also stressed that these ties are resisting external pressures and are moving forward as an irreversible trend.
