Vietnam exports first batch of organic coconut sugar to the U.S.

Hanoi, May 8 (Prensa Latina) The company Sokfarm, from the Vietnamese province of Tra Vinh and integrated to the program "Every commune a product" (OCOP), exported to the United States the first seven tons of organic coconut sugar.

This first export batch will be conveyed to U.S. partners in the health food sector, especially for those engaged in the production of energy bars and healthy bakery products, said Sokfarm general director Pham Dinh Ngai.

According to Dinh Ngai, quoted by the VNA news agency, this type of sugar is made from the fresh nectar of coconut blossoms and through a process that preserves its natural minerals and nutrients.

To produce one kilogram of the sweetener, he said, more than eight liters of nectar are needed, which is concentrated using advanced technology at low temperature for several hours.

Sokfarm, founded in 2019, markets six main products based on coconut nectar and coconut sugar, all certified 4 or 5-star by the OCOP program, some of which have already been exported to Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Australia.

The company manages a 20-hectare certified organic coconut plantation, complying with USDA, EU, Japanese and Canadian agricultural standards.
