Hun Manet emphasized that despite his commitments abroad, responsibility for national security and military command, including decisions on troop deployments, remains firmly under his authority.

In a statement released through social media, the prime minister sought to quell citizen concerns generated by the incident and the mobilization of troops and heavy weaponry to the border in his absence. He detailed that all events at the border are regularly reported to him, as well as the results of communications between the Cambodian and Thai military counterparts.

Manet emphasized that the goal is to prevent further escalation and restore calm and constructive relations between the frontline forces. He also stressed that any major decision, including the mobilization of troops and weapons to the border, must have his approval or be directly ordered by him.
