The Russian foreign minister, who spoke at the plenary session of the “International Socio-Political Hearings on the Problems of Forming a Single and Equal System of Security and Cooperation in Eurasia,” held in the Russian city of Perm, remembered that these attempts lead to an appropriate response.
“If we look at the north of the European continent, we see clear attempts to militarize the Arctic, to find pretexts for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s infrastructure to enter there,” Lavrov said.
We are convinced that most other Eurasian states, which cannot accept this situation, also think the same way as Russia, he added.
According to the Russian foreign minister, Moscow is not interested in an endless confrontation with any of the parties.
“Our interest is to ensure reliable security, stability, and equitable development conditions for all states.
We are convinced that only such a fair approach has the right to exist,” he concluded.
