The head of Saudi diplomacy had stated that his country would be at the forefront of nations supporting Syria’s economic revival, and welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to lift sanctions.

Saudi Arabia was the destination of the Syrian interim president’s first visit abroad. At the same time, Riyadh played a significant role in the lifting of US sanctions imposed on Damascus.
