Through a message on the social network X, Rodriguez quoted a thought of the island’s National Hero, José Martí, to greet Cuban infants.

“For children we work, because children are those who know how to love, because children are the hope of the world, José Martí,” the Foreign Minister wrote.

“Congratulations to all our girls and boys on this International Children’s Day,” he added.

The day before, on the same platform, the head of Cuban diplomacy affirmed that “the best interests of the child and the prohibition of child labor are enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.”

He also assured that it is part of “the integral protection of the Cuban State for children and adolescents”.

Every June 1, the International Children’s Day is celebrated world wide, with the purpose of remembering that children are the most vulnerable group and the most affected by the different regional and world crises.

The United Nations proposes to promote and defend all children’s rights, with emphasis on health, education and protection, regardless of their place of birth.
