The operations were carried out at the border of Chuy, Uruguayan department of Rocha, in the northeast of the South American country.
The police actions seized 14 kilograms of cannabis on the Brazilian side and another 10 kilograms in Uruguayan territory.
According to the digital media Subrayado, the drugs were transported in locked suitcases by Brazilian citizens who were arrested.
El Chuy is a border town that separates both countries by an avenue, with a wide commercial activity, especially for Uruguayan citizens who go shopping taking advantage of the exchange difference and lower prices on the Brazilian side.
Subrayado also reported an increase in drug trafficking on the common border, both by land and by sea, with vessels taking the illicit substances to ships waiting in the Atlantic Ocean.
