According to a press release, the disposable gloves were hidden inside single-use diapers and were detected during a joint intervention, in which security agents of the Haina terminal and canine units participated.
The authorities inspected a container that arrived in this country on a ship from New York and confiscated three boxes with dozens of these diapers.
The total weight of the shipment was 38,54 pounds, according to the analysis of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).
The authorities specified that the packages were sent by an individual with an alleged address in Warburton Ave, Yonkers, New York and were to be received by a man with an address in the municipality of Moca, in the Dominican province of Espaillat.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Drug Control Directorate informed that they have initiated the investigation and assured that they will continue their operations against international drug trafficking and micro-trafficking.
