During Monday’s broadcast of his program “Con Maduro +,” the president pointed out that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has been in existence for more than 60 years and Venezuela is a founder with “the great genius of Juan Carlos Perez Alfonso.”
Maduro noted that OPEC+ was later promoted from the Bolivarian Republic to include other oil giants, such as Russia, and added that since its founding, “it has been a guarantee of stability in the oil market as well as the replacement of investments and a balanced and fair price.”
The head of State underscored that he is sending the letter so that “we adjust and tune the official coordination mechanisms of OPEC+” and visualize the second half of 2025 and the next two years.
He affirmed that all of this is “in function of having a strategy to guarantees stability, replacement of investments, profits for the oil companies, and fairer prices than the current ones.”
Maduro commented on the progress of the Venezuelan oil industry and highlighted that in the first four months of the current year, it had an 8.5 percent increase without depending on others.
