He stressed the importance of working for a healthy, stable and sustainable relationship between the two nations.

According to local press, Perdue expressed his desire to maintain close contact with the Chinese government based on mutual respect and sincere exchange.

The ambassador is a Republican with an extensive business background and involvement in public affairs.

He arrived in China last May 15 and announced on social media his willingness to work for the benefit of his country’s security and prosperity, focused on what he called “the most important diplomatic relationship of the 21st century”.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, indicated days ago that the ambassador will be facilitated in the fulfillment of his mission in China.

It also reiterated that Beijing’s position towards the bilateral relationship is based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation.
