Angola and Venezuela maintain excellent relations

Luanda, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) Angola and Venezuela are currently at a good moment in their bilateral relations, when we are on the way to 40 years of their establishment, Venezuelan Ambassador to this nation, Belen Orsini, affirmed.

The ambassador stressed that the ties between the two countries have always been good, and highlighted the visit in April of Yuri Pimentel, Deputy Minister for Africa at the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, as an important point to enhance cooperation in different sectors.

The diplomat explained that, with the presence of Pimentel, the first meeting of the Mechanism of Political Consultations was held to address issues such as the identification of new areas for cooperation and pave the way for the subsequent holding of the first meeting of the Bilateral Commission.

Orsini, who spoke with the press on the occasion of the first edition of “Coffee with the Ambassador,” where she invited them to discuss on aspects of her nation that arouse the interest of the media, highlighted the different spheres in which both countries have exchanges.

The oil industry, mining, education, tourism, culture, and environmental protection were some of them.

She also highlighted Angolan observers’ participation in the May 25 parliamentary and regional elections, where representatives of the National Electoral Commission of the African country and the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) party were present.
