The Indian Ministry of Earth Sciences released a statement saying the meeting took place within the framework of the Monaco Marine Conference, which is taking place in that European principality.

According to the ministry, the two leaders exchanged ideas on deepening cooperation between India and Norway in marine planning, Arctic research, and a resilient blue economy.

The Norwegian minister expressed his solidarity with India over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, conveyed Norway’s strong public confidence in supporting India, and expressed the hope of many citizens of his country who await Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Oslo.

For his part, Singh reiterated India’s commitment to a resilient blue economy, noting that Prime Minister Modi had addressed this issue twice in his two consecutive Independence Day speeches.
