Organized in partnership with the Russian Embassy in Ethiopia and the Russian Center for Science and Culture, the event pays tribute to one of the United Nations’ six official languages, recognizing its cultural and historical contribution to the world.

The event’s program features presentations and short documentaries on the Russian language and culture, music, dance performances, and an exhibition of traditional art and artifacts.

Russian Language Day is celebrated annually on June 6 and coincides with the birthday of Alexander Pushkin, a Russian poet who was considered the father of modern Russian literature.
