It was an initiative launched by the union movement in the celebration of the International Workers’ Day (May 1st) which was attended by the president.
Orsi will receive leaders of the unitary trade union center on June 23.
The workers’ delegation will bring their proposals so that the government will include them in its management plan.
Marcelo Abdala, president of the PIT-CNT, said that they will insist on “a tripartite scope of social dialogue towards a social development strategy”.
The majority of the Wage Councils and the discussion on the social security reform are also among the interests of the union representatives.
Abdala also defended the relevance of a law establishing a maximum of 40 hours per week with pay of 48, which was one of the agreements of the recently held XV Congress of the PIT-T-CNT.
He valued as a positive sign the 60-day suspension of the medical leave regime, and called for an agreement in this regard that “does not violate collective bargaining or workers’ rights”.
