Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet denounced the unstable situation on the border and highlighted Thai military actions, including the digging of trenches and the daily deployment of heavy artillery.
Manet noted that despite mutual accusations and differences of opinion, Thai military activities continue unabated.
The prime minister also rejected accusations that Cambodian troops pointed a cannon at Thai territory, arguing that it is illogical to direct heavy weapons toward their territory.
Manet emphasized that these actions do not represent an aggression by Cambodia, but rather, unilateral actions by Thailand are fueling tensions.
Tensions arose after a border clash on May 28 that resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
