The South Korean presidential office highlighted the understanding between the two leaders following their initial phone conversations this Monday, which included efforts to conclude a free trade agreement before ending this year.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung noted that Lee and Anwar Ibrahim agreed to boost the strategic partnership between South Korea and Malaysia.
The spokesperson stated that after referring to further enhancing mutually beneficial and substantial cooperation, the two leaders mentioned areas such as trade, investment, infrastructure, digital transformation, green growth, and defense.
South Korea and Malaysia mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
