Russian companies bet on India in information technology

New Delhi, June 23 (Prensa Latina) The Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated that many Russian companies consider India as a base for building their technology teams.

Both countries can collaborate and leverage each other’s areas of expertise in information technology, the official said in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), according to a report by the ANI news agency.

He acknowledged Russia’s significant strengths in the cybersecurity and emphasized that India has developed its expertise in artificial intelligence, management, and programming of information technology systems; therefore, both countries can collaborate and learn from each other to achieve a mutually beneficial solution, Vaishnaw emphasized.

As part of his agenda in St. Petersburg, India’s Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology spoke with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk about bilateral cooperation.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in areas such as transportation, connectivity, infrastructure, and rare earths, according to a social media post by the senior official, who described the meeting as productive.

He also spoke with Russian Railways CEO Oleg Belozerov and his management team about new projects and technological innovations in both countries’ railway systems, including high-speed trains.
