Ernest Hemingway International Colloquium concludes in Cuba

Havana, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) The 20th Ernest Hemingway International Colloquium is concluding on Saturday at the house-museum that bears his name, after several days dedicated to honoring the prestigious US writer in this capital.

The event’s agenda invites participants to enjoy a tour this Saturday of the cultural institution where Hemingway spent almost half of his useful years as a writer and where he wrote important works.

At Vigia Farm, as this property is also known, the author completed his book “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and wrote “Across the River and into the Trees,” “The Old Man and the Sea,” “A Movable Feast,” and “Islands in the Stream,” in addition to many newspaper articles.

Other planned activities include the presentation of the “Gigi’s Stars” Children’s Community Baseball Project and the unveiling of a reproduction of the Nobel Prize in Literature scroll, in coordination with the Swedish Embassy in Cuba.

Researchers, academicians, and admirers of his work have gathered in Havana since Wednesday to discuss and exchange experiences about the famous writer.

This Colloquium’s edition commemorates the 90th and 85th anniversaries of the first publication of the novels “The Green Hills of Africa” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” respectively.
