The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that two Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted and shot down over the Kursk Oblast, two over the Rostov Oblast, and the fifth over the Peninsula of Crimea.
Kursk Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported that a fire broke out in a residential building in the Lgov village after the drone attack.
Khinshtein indicated that the fire started in a one-story, three-apartment building. No one was injured, and all emergency services, including firefighters, responded to the scene.
Meanwhile, Taganrog Mayor Svetlana Kambulova said the air defense systems repelled the Ukrainian attack drones after an air threat was declared throughout the region.
Since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24, 2022, drone attacks launched from Ukraine on military and civilian targets in the Russian rear have become routine.
