At a press conference the spokeswoman from Russia Chancellery stated that German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is trying to justify sending Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev, but “Berlin does not realize that such actions would mean Germany’s entry into the Russian-Ukrainian conflict,” she stressed.

In this regard, Merz previously stressed that, if his country supplies the Taurus, these weapons will not be used by German military, but by Ukrainians.

“Behind all this curtain of words is hidden the ill-concealed desire of the Merz government to engage in deep strikes as well. Berlin does not seem to realize that this would imply Germany’s direct involvement in the conflict with our country, and it should think about it,” Zakharova said.

In the diplomat’s opinion, the German ruler “is trying to justify what he himself describes as the inevitability of supplying Taurus cruise missiles to the Kiev regime”.
