The Chinese Foreign Ministry explained that Li made the statements in Cairo, where he arrived to meet an official visit, invited by his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Kamal Madbouly.

Noting that China and Egypt are ancient civilizations, Li stressed that since the establishment of diplomatic ties nearly 70 years ago, the two countries have remained close friends who support each other, as well as strategic partners of shared future.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, bilateral relations have flourished, traditional friendship has strengthened over time, mutual political trust has deepened, pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and multilateral coordination is becoming closer and more effective, Li stressed.

In addition, the two countries have established a model of solidarity, unity, self-reliance, mutual benefit and mutual support among major developing countries, the visitor added.
