Progress has been noticeable since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership almost 20 years ago, said the president, who highlighting that bilateral trade has already exceeded $1.7 billion by 2024.
However, Cuong urged both parties to redouble efforts to better leverage their economic and commercial potential, so that ties in this area live up to the excellent political relations, according to the Voice of Vietnam.
The head of state congratulated the diplomat on the successful completion of his mission and recognized his important contributions to promoting and deepening the bilateral relationship, underpinned by the friendship between the two countries forged by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Salvador Allende.
Narea Guzman, for his part, reaffirmed Chilean people’s admiration for Vietnam, assured that his country will continue to support that nation in multilateral forums, and expressed his commitment to continue contributing to strengthening ties between the two peoples in the future.
On the occasion of the meeting, Luong Cuong, who made an official visit to Chile in November of last year, extended an invitation to his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, to visit Vietnam at his discretion.
Last Monday, Boric spoke with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during the celebration of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Vietnamese side proposed that Chile create favorable conditions and implement special policies to facilitate cooperation and investment by Vietnamese companies in Chilean territory, in order to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the South American country.
