The agreement signed by the Venezuelan Minister for Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, and the North African nation’s ambassador to Caracas, Farouk Benmokhtar, fulfilled what was agreed upon at the Fifth Joint Intergovernmental Cooperation Commission, held earlier this month in Algiers.
According to a press release, the benefits of the agreement will include plant production in nurseries, reforestation processes, and the collection, treatment, utilization, and final disposal of waste; as well as establishing the environmental legal framework for the development of economic activities.
The parties added proposals such as promoting joint information and research in both directions for the development of technologies and the exchange of university students for environmental and ecosocialist training processes.
This meeting allowed Caracas and Algiers to continue the agreements signed through the memorandum of understanding between the Algerian Ministries of Ecosocialism and Ecology and Quality of Life, signed on July 3 and 4.
