According to the television station, most of them took their own lives as a result of increased psychological and physical stress from the fighting in the coastal enclave, under siege since October 2023.
It highlighted that thousands of those affected are classified as “psychologically ill,” and that many of them suffer severe trauma from the scenes of murder and bloodshed in that territory, where more than 58,000 Palestinians have been reported dead in 21 months.
To date, 890 Israeli soldiers have been killed in combat since the start of the current phase of the conflict on October 7, 2023.
Of that number, more than 300 of them fell that day during the Islamic Resistance Movement’s attack on Israel, and another 448 in the invasion of Gaza, according to official data.
The rest died in the occupied West Bank and in clashes with the Lebanese Hezbollah (Party of God).
