Held at Skukuza Safari Lodge, the meetings are chaired by South Africa’s Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa.
Part of South Africa’s presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20), the forums focus on the theme “Solidarity, Sustainability, and Equality,” showing the bloc’s commitment to an equitable and resilient global recovery.
The agenda includes discussions on the High-Level Principles on Global Public Goods, development financing strategies, and universal social protection mechanisms.
According to the Ministry, the South African Government will seek to catalyze concrete commitments from G20 partners to strengthen public investment in goods that go beyond borders, such as health, climate action, and poverty eradication.
One of the core themes will be the mobilization of resources and means of implementation essential to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), exacerbated by recent economic and climate challenges.
