“This Villa Clara region has an essential place in my personal and professional life; I am truly grateful for it,” the 2019 National Visual Arts Award winner and vice president of the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) said.
The artist, to whom the 16th edition of the competition is dedicated, received the high distinction from Villa Clara Vice-Governor Noel Chinea, the Cuban Communist Party Bureau member in this province, Isael Rodriguez, and Culture director Serguei Perez.
El Zarapico is included in the extensive catalog of awards that validate the artist’s career. She also holds the National Curatorship Award in 2000 for her extensive work at the Casa de las Americas cultural institution.
Founded in 2005, the Exuberarte Fashion Festival, the only one of its kind in Cuba, brings together the country’s most relevant design exponents every July.
