According to the financial institution, the accumulated variation for the January-May period was 2,9%, and the average annual growth was 2,4%.
In the seasonally adjusted IMAE series, growth of 0,4% was observed compared to the previous month and 3,4% compared to May 2024.
Likewise, in the IMAE’s trend-cycle series, growth of 0,6% was recorded compared to December 2024 and 4,1% compared to December of last year.
The BCN specified that the activities with the greatest growth were mining and quarrying (19,6%); commerce (13,4%); hotels and restaurants (6,2%); manufacturing (5,3%); transportation and communications (4,9%); and financial intermediation and related services (4,4%), among others.
According to the report, decreases were recorded in fishing and aquaculture (-37,9%); energy and water (-16,0%); and public administration and defense (-3,3%).
