The foreign minister addressed the report by the Agence France-Presse (AFP), which warned on Monday of the desperate situation of its collaborators in Gaza, where months of a total Israeli blockade prevent the entry of food and humanitarian aid.

The agency warned that since AFP was founded in 1944, we have lost journalists in conflicts, we have had wounded and prisoners in our ranks, but none of us can remember ever seeing a colleague die of hunger, and we refuse to accept it.

The French foreign minister expressed hope that in the coming weeks, some of these people could leave the Strip, which has been indiscriminately bombed since October 7, 2023, in retaliation for Hamas attacks on Israel.

Barrot reiterated, in his statements, France’s call for an immediate ceasefire and condemned the expansion of the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
