Venezuelan Minister of Defense, General in Chief Vladimir Padrino, in a meeting with the Expanded Superior Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, informed that the troops have the mission of guarding the more than 15 thousand voting centers set up throughout the country.
In addition to protecting, he added, the equipment and electoral material, together with the security of the citizens who will go to the polls.
Next Sunday, a total of 53 political organizations will participate in the 33rd elections since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, in which 21 million 524 thousand 121 voters are summoned to vote, according to the electoral authorities.
Padrino pointed out that the mission foresees the protection of the third National Popular Consultation, which in parallel will be held next Sunday and also the suffrages in the indigenous communities to elect their councilmen in August, reported Venezolana de Television.
