In the letter marking the 72nd anniversary of the Moncada Garrisons attack, Weerasinghe reaffirmed the Sri Lankan Communist Party’s unwavering solidarity with the Cuban Communist Party in confronting the United States’ economic, commercial, and financial blockade.

He described the aggressive US policy against the Caribbean nation as brutal and unjust, designed to stifle the Cuban socialist project.

No imperialist aggression can extinguish the flame of the Cuban Revolution, Weerasinghe affirmed after expressing the warm and militant greetings of his organization and the revolutionary forces of his country to the president, the Communist Party, and the people of the Caribbean island.

He also expressed his willingness to strengthen mutual cooperation in the face of these challenges.
