During the exchange, the two leaders addressed the latest events in Syria, the prospects for strengthening national stability and moving towards a sustainable political solution, in a context marked by regional tensions and humanitarian challenges.
The French head of state reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the unity, independence and sovereignty of Syria, while stressing that the stability of that nation is an essential component for regional peace and a humanitarian priority.
Macron also strongly condemned the escalation of aggressions by Israel and the repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty.
He also reiterated France’s readiness to contribute to the reconstruction and recovery process of the Levantine country through technical and humanitarian support, as well as to encourage the gradual reincorporation of the French private sector into the Syrian market.
For his part, President Al-Shara expressed his appreciation to France for its balanced stance and support for the legitimate rights of the Syrian people, including security, sovereignty and development.
