Beijing Hydrological Station issued a red alert for floods, the highest level of the alert system, after forecasting a rise in Chaobai River flow of up to 3,000 cubic meters per second.
Simultaneously, Beijing Planning and Natural Resources Commission, together with the municipal Meteorological Service, issued a red alert for the risk of landslides and earthquakes.
In light of this situation, authorities recommended that the population stay away from rivers, avoid unnecessary outings, and follow official instructions. Due to the high risk of geological disasters, the Ministry of Natural Resources activated a Level III response for landslide defense in Beijing at 8:00 a.m. local time.
The Ministry urged local authorities to strengthen surveillance, run inspections, activate early warning systems, and ensure compliance with emergency protocols.
