Guo affirmed that Cambodia and Thailand are permanent neighbors and both nations maintain friendly relations with China.

The spokesperson emphasized that mutual trust and proper management of differences benefit both countries and the region as a whole.

China expressed deep sorrow for the civilian casualties on both sides of the conflict and expressed solidarity.

Guo emphasized the principle of resolving disputes through negotiations, in tune with the values of harmony and good-neighborly relations, and called for the immediate restoration of peace in the bordering areas.
