Speaking to the press, after briefing the July session of the Council of Ministers under the leadership of the president, Joao Lourenco, the interior minister insisted that the bodies of the National Police are deployed to ensure citizen security and the return to normality.
He commented that, although the main vandalism actions took place in the capital, there were also some outbreaks in the provinces of Huambo, Icolo and Bengo, Benguela and Huila.
During these days there was looting of stores, damage to bank agencies, private cars, buses and vehicles of institutions such as ambulances and police cars, for which more than 1,200 people have been arrested.
The Minister regretted the death of a police officer and assured that the forces of law and order will continue to guarantee public safety.
