Vietnam is determined to deepen special friendship with Cuba

Hanoi, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) The determination of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, and the National Assembly to deepen their traditional solidarity and special friendship with Cuba is reflected in the mass media and websites on Thursday.

National Assembly (Parliament) Chairman Tran Thanh Man made this remark during a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Esteban Lazo, in which he also expressed satisfaction with the solid development of trust and rapprochement between the two countries in recent times.

Thanh Man emphasized that the close cooperation between the two National Assemblies had a significant impact on this and suggested that both sides increase the exchange of delegations and contacts at all levels, particularly at the highest levels.

He also proposed maintaining and periodically improving the effectiveness of collaboration mechanisms to exchange information and experiences in each area of strength, making cooperation between the two National Assemblies an important channel for bilateral relations.

The Speaker of the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, stated the same opinion, and thanked the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, and the National Assembly for their valuable support and assistance.

According to the Vietnamese Legislative website, Lazo highlighted the consolidation and continuous strengthening of traditional solidarity and special friendship between the two countries. He affirmed that Cuba is always interested in promoting bilateral economic relations.

Both leaders agreed to coordinate and implement several measures closely to continue consolidating and strengthening their ties, and conduct activities for the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which were established on April 15, 1960.

Thanh Man and Lazo met on Wednesday, during the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Geneva.
