Kojic, in a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov, officially informed Baku of the end of the ICRC’s activities in the country next month.
For his part, Bayramov thanked Kojic for her efforts to foster cooperation during her stay in Azerbaijan and wished her success in her future activities.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on topics such as the ICRC’s activities in Azerbaijan over the past 33 years, the current status and future of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, restoration and reconstruction efforts in liberated territories, and the threat of mines.
On March 5, the head of the Red Cross public relations department in Azerbaijan, Ilaha Huseynova, announced that her government would close the ICRC offices in the country.
