The National Electoral Authority informed that 428 candidates are vying for a seat in the Senate: 186 independents and 242 affiliated with political parties.

The agency stated that an estimated 9,500 judges, including 2,500 women, are overseeing the process.

Egyptians abroad concluded their vote on Saturday at 136 polling stations distributed across 117 countries.
