Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina condemned in a statement the plan approved by the Israeli security cabinet to control the coastal enclave, home to more than two million people.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s rejection of criticism of his actions and the world’s warnings about the spread of the war constitute an unprecedented challenge and provocation to the international will to achieve regional peace and stability, he asserted.

Rudeina accused the neighboring nation of violating international norms and several UN Security Council resolutions on the matter.

Gaza is an integral part of Palestine, as are East Jerusalem and the West Bank, the official stressed, calling on the world to stop Israeli attacks and allow aid into the Strip.

The international community must force that country to stop its war campaign and allow aid into the Strip, he said.

He also called on the United States to assume its responsibilities to halt the aggressions of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank and prevent Israel from continuing the war.
