Russia: Air defense downs 32 Ukrainian drones over 10 regions

Moscow, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) The operational air defense systems shot down in the last day 32 Ukrainian attack drones that targeted the country's 10 southwestern regions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The military institution announced on its official Telegram channel that seven unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over Belgorod region, five over Bryansk, and the same number over Kaluga; four over the Peninsula of Crimea, and two per capita over Oryol, Kursk, Voronezh, Ryazan, and Moscow regions, and one over Tula.

The national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, previously informed that temporary restrictions have been imposed at Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, and Kaluga airports on the last day due to security reasons.

Since the beginning of the special military operation on February 24, 2022, drone attacks launched from Ukraine on military and civilian targets in the Russian rear have become routine.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Peninsula of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter elsewhere.
