Political trust between the two countries has continuously strengthened, while collaboration in multiple sectors is increasingly solid and effective, and people-to-people exchanges have also intensified considerably, the party leader emphasized in a joint press conference with Lee.

The South Korean leader emphasized on the importance of the visit by Vietnam’s top party leader, which, he said, is essential to continue strengthening ties between the two nations.

Referring to Monday’s official talks, the South Korean president commented that they broadly addressed national issues, bilateral relations, and regional and international issues of common interest, and reached significant agreements in several key areas.

In their statements to the press, both interlocutors agreed on the need to strengthen ties between their Parties, Governments, and Parliaments in order to outline strategic guidelines and build a solid political foundation that favors the expansion of cooperation at all levels.

They also emphasized on the importance of promoting practical collaboration in key sectors such as diplomacy, defense, and security, and working together to address non-traditional security challenges, such as transnational crime, cybercrime, and drug trafficking.

They also stressed on the significance of increasing investment, technological promotion and collaboration, along with trade and market access for products from both countries.
