The head of Culture, Roberto Angel Salcedo, highlighted the importance of the event as a platform to democratize access to theater and strengthen links between national and international artists.

Salcedo affirmed that FITE RD 2025 will not only take theater to different territories of the country, but will also offer spaces for training and reflection for the development of performing arts.

The inaugural event will take place on 19 October at Maximo Aviles Blonda Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts, with the presentation of the play “El alcalde de Zalamea” by Teatro Corsario company.

The Festival will be dedicated to cultural manager Freddy Ginebra, who for more than 50 years has supported national theatrical activity from Casa de Teatro.

Tribute will also be paid to the Spanish company Teatro Corsario, recognized for its particular treatment of Spanish-language classics and its 43-year trajectory on the international stage.
