The Defense Ministry explained in a statement, that the aggression, which occurred at 2:35 local time, triggered intense clashes in which a soldier was killed.

The government forces responded within the rules of engagement, neutralizing the sources of fire and forcing the attackers to retreat to their original positions, said the military report.

According to the information, the action is part of a series of hostilities that the SDF systematically execute against Syrian military positions in the areas of Manbij and Deir Hafer, as well as intermittent and almost daily road closures in Aleppo.

The Defense Ministry reaffirmed its call on the SDF to immediately cease attacks, shelling and “provocations” against the Army and the civilian population, warning that the persistence of these actions will lead to “further consequences”.
