The official Foreign Ministry spokesman, Sufyan Al-Qudah, denounced the most recent Israeli aggression that claimed the lives of the network’s correspondents and cameramen and considered these attacks as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, concerning the protection of civilians in time of war.
He also reiterated the Kingdom’s call to the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, to immediately halt the Israeli offensive, to grant international protection to journalists and medical personnel, as well as to humanitarian organizations in Gaza.
The legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their national territory must be guaranteed, the official assured.
According to Palestinian media organizations, at least 273 journalists have been killed since the beginning of the current Israeli military escalation in Gaza, many of them while reporting on the ground.
